10 yes/no questions. Score 0–100. A concrete recommendation on which gaps your site should close first for AI visibility. No sign-up, no storage — runs entirely in the browser.

Methodology: the check evaluates 10 dimensions of GEO maturity. Weights are based on 500+ documented audits. Each “Yes” counts with the weight of its dimension; “Unsure” counts at 50%.

The GEO readiness check is a free ten-question self-assessment. It estimates how well a website is prepared for generative search systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It looks at three layers: whether AI crawlers can reach the content at all, whether the brand and its authors are recognisable as unambiguous entities, and whether the content is written in short passages that can be quoted on their own. Every question carries a fixed weight. "Yes" counts in full, "Unsure" counts half and "No" counts zero; the total is normalised to a score between 0 and 100. The result is a self-assessment, not an audit. It does not measure how often your brand is actually cited, only whether the preconditions are in place. The weights come from my consulting practice (evidence level C/D) and are disclosed in full below.
The weights add up to 90 points and are normalised to 100 for the score. What most often decides visibility in audits carries more weight: entity anchoring and crawler access.
| Dimension | What matters | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Person/Organization schema | Consistent @id and sameAs across all pages | 12 |
| Wikidata entry | Referenced entry for the brand or its leadership | 10 |
| AI crawler access | GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended allowed, no WAF blocks | 10 |
| Q&A and definition passages | Key statements as short, standalone answers | 9 |
| Author bylines | Visible authors with Person schema and sameAs | 9 |
| Passage structure | Topics in sections under ~600 characters, understandable without context | 9 |
| llms.txt | Curated overview at the website root | 8 |
| External mentions | At least 3 independent sources mention you in your topic context | 8 |
| AI monitoring | Regular checks of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answers | 8 |
| Multilingual consistency | hreflang, sameAs and entity IDs consistent across languages | 7 |
The score is a prioritisation aid, not a measurement of your AI visibility. Two sites with the same score can be named very differently in ChatGPT, because competition, topical authority and external mentions vary widely. To learn how often your brand is actually cited, you need a measurement across many real prompts and several models, as in the GEO audit. Background reading: What is GEO?
